A visual journey into the lives of those who dwell on the margins—stories of resilience, loss, and quiet strength. A call to witness the humanity behind the statistics, and to listen to the voices so often ignored.
Reunited in the heart of Los Angeles, these images trace a day with Sara—my muse, my friend—after six months apart. In and out of sobriety, shelters, and heartbreak, she reemerges with red-dyed hair, soft laughter, and scars that speak without words.
These images capture Sara's days after rehab and her life and friends in her new home. A portrait of resilience in transition, of a woman reclaiming pieces of herself amid the city’s indifferent hum.
I worked with a Food on Foot. An charity that helps people experiencing homelessness. This organization sees everyone as they are. No matter what race, class, gender we are all humans.
I was reunited with Sara a year later. After parallel hardships we met again. She had been moved from her original place due to a fire that started in her original tent community.
I first met Sara in April 2022, living in a tent community on Hollywood Blvd. This was our first shoot together.
In alleyways and under overpasses, between silence and survival, these portraits bear witness to the resilience, sorrow, and humanity of those our cities overlook.
